〈 CHARACTER INFO 〉
CHARACTER NAME: Altair Ibn-La’Ahad
CHARACTER AGE: 26
CANON ORIGIN: Assassin’s Creed
CHRONOLOGY: Post Assassin’s Creed 1
CLASS: Anti-Hero
HOUSING:

BACKGROUND:

Our duty is to people, not to custom

The world of Assassin’s Creed is very similar to ours, with only a few key differences. The biggest difference is that the human race was created by an ancient and advanced species known as the Isu. They created humans as a domestic workforce and for an unknown period of time humanity worshipped them as gods.

Eventually humanity rebelled against the Isu which led to the species’ decline and extinction. Humanity never forgot about the Isu however, as they are remembered in myths and in artifacts, known as Pieces of Eden, left behind.

The Pieces of Eden are generally believed to be “magic” although really they are highly sophisticated devices that were used to create humanity and control them. Not all were destroyed during the rebellion and are constantly sought by both the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order.

The Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order have been at war with each other for as long as anyone can remember, both fighting by manipulating governments and powerful organizations as they attempt to gain control of the Pieces of Eden.

Due to humanity having been created by the Isu, there are people who seem to have a combination of human and Isu DNA. These people tend to have abilities that the rest of humanity doesn’t: enhanced abilities, Eagle Vision, and the ability to resist the effects of the Pieces of Eden. Altair, as well as most Assassins, has this lineage.

PERSONALITY:

When Altair is first introduced he is very standoffish, rude, and arrogant. He takes no direction from his peers and does not follow the tenets of his Creed, believing himself above the rules the others had to follow. This leads him to disgrace and having to earn back his ranking, taking orders from those he previously looked down upon and belittled. His redemption quest does lead to a personality change; he no longer believes himself to be better than the others in the Assassin Brotherhood, and shows concern over their safety and the safety of innocents who can be in harm's way.

Altair has recently learned to take criticism and advice from his peers; and while he does still have hostile reactions to those whom he believes to belittle him, he does listen and take their words to heart; even when it seems as if he wasn’t paying attention. This does not however make him a nicer person; Altair is not a social person and has very few confidantes. Once his trust is earned however, he becomes much more likely to open up and to even teach his skills to others (and by ‘teach’ I mean attack them until they learn to defend properly or until they decide to yell at him for being an ass and demand proper lessons.).

He is only just learning to be patient when it comes to informants, so most of the time he will demand information instead of trading for it. The exact opposite is true when it comes to his targets however; he's more than willing to wait for the perfect moment to strike his target, even if that means hours waiting in one location without moving. Altair also shows a dry sense of humor, though for the most he is very serious, preferring to use logic to make his point.

During particularly traumatic times, Altair does tend to slip into old habits and his old personality. He becomes cold and aloof, speaking to others as if they are beneath him. He speaks in shorter sentences and is quicker to anger, although with those he respects and trusts he does remain polite and friendly.

At first Altair is motivated by his pride, wanting to regain his position of power in the Brotherhood and prove his critics wrong; this morphs into wanting to help the people of the Holy Land and stop the Crusades. He firmly believes in the philosophy of “kill one to save a thousand” and does not kill innocents. He does research on his targets and finds proof that they are evil men.

From the point in canon that he is taken, Altair has just been betrayed by his Master. He was the one who raised him and was his only father figure. Al Mualim’s betrayal has left Altair doubting his purpose. He has to find a balance between what he believes is true and the knowledge that his targets may have been innocents in the way of Al Mualim’s schemes.

POWER:

Master Assassin: Altair is able to make himself less conspicuous and blend into his surroundings so that he can pass unseen. This allows him to pass as one of the crowd in most circumstances, but people who are highly suspicious can see through it. He can also break the blend by doing anything that draws attention to himself.

Isu Lineage: Because Altair has a higher percentage of Isu DNA he has certain abilities others in his world do not: Eagle Vision: Altair has the ability to perceive another's true alliances by shifting the way he sees. When using this power he sees allies are blue, enemies are red, targets are gold, informants/hiding spots/points of interest are white, and everyone else appears gray; Enhanced Physiology: Altair is more resistant to damage, though not to a superhuman point. He has a greater chance of surviving injuries, but injuries that would be fatal to a normal human are fatal to him, and minor injuries heal at an higher rate. He also has increased strength and stamina as compared to most humans.

Spontaneous Haystacks: Altair has the ability to create haystacks or haycarts at the bottom of tall jumps so that he can safely land no matter the distance.

〈 CHARACTER SAMPLES 〉

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:

[ Altair wasn’t sure he really wanted to use the comm device he’d been given upon his arrival in this strange world. He didn’t quite trust this to not be a trick by the Apple or Al Mualim, but this city he’d found himself in defied any logic he could understand and so he was reaching out.

Altair clicks the video on and pans the camera around to show the city and the… phantoms? ]

I know this world is different from my own, but this cannot be normal. Phantoms appearing disappearing, strange animals, and [ the camera pans across the Church of the Ancient Web Mistress ] the worship of a spider god?

[ And he’d thought the Apple and it’s mind control the weirdest thing he’d ever have to experience. ]

LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:

FINAL NOTES: Altair will arrive with his Assassins robes, his hidden blade, 5 throwing knives, a short sword, and the Apple of Eden. If the mod’s don’t want the potential world breaking abilities of the Apple I’m happy to have it be deactivated or any restriction thats wanted.
